2020 Swim Season

CDC recommendations for swimming pool and spas

Hi Everyone!

We are looking forward to a great Summer season!

2020 has been off to an unusual start, but we want to assure you that COVID-19 does not have to delay or interrupt your swim season.

The CDC has outlined their guidance for swimming pools that you can check out here:

https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/community/parks-rec/aquatic-venues.html

They discuss the importance of continuing to social distance, hand washing, and not partaking in activities if having symptoms.

Keep in mind to disinfect frequently touched areas and items, such as ladders and handrails.

Overall, a properly maintained  swimming pool has not been determined to pose a risk of spreading COVID-19.

So here is a reminder of the acceptable values for water chemistry testing:

Minimum

Ideal

Maximum

pH

7.2

7.4-7.6

7.8

Alkalinity

60 ppm

80-120 ppm

140 ppm

Chlorine

3-5 ppm

5 ppm

Calcium
